Knowing You is a 14 page, two player rpg about diving to the bottom of a relationship that has already been horribly shattered and will not be repaired. It is played by answering questions in a structured format. It also has the potential to get real personal if you accidentally or intentionally drag any of yourself into it, and I would urge significant caution there.
The layout is really cool, positioning the content as a text conversation, and the pdf is really easy to read.
The writing is also solid, and the questions really dig into the nature and nuance of the relationship.
I think if you like tragic games about relationships, this is a tight, focused experience. If you do not want to go through the simulated emotional crash and intense what-if-ing following a bad breakup, you probably do not want to play this.
Played this with a friend of mine (Kat) and I swear to you, this game is absolutely worth every cent and so much more. The way the subject matter is handled is so compelling, and with the right person, you can share a story that is at times joyful, at others, tear-jerking, but ALWAYS memorable.
Major Props to Summer for this game - find someone you trust, sit down for a few hours, and revel in some heartbreak.
Knowing You is a game that lets you explore the ending of a relationship. A subject as common as it is rare to be experienced in such an earnest and gentle way.
I highly recommend to take that deep breath required and go for the leap and invite someone to be vulnerable with.
You will end up with a heavy but very warm and full heart <3
